LONG MARTON INSTITUTE THANKS YOU

The building has been serving the local community since 1893 & looks to continue this tradition.

We have made great progress with modernising the building so it can be used by everyone. New doors, windows, loft insulation, electrical re-wiring, heaters, kitchen, & fire alarm system. We have dealt with dry rot, replaced the kitchen & toilet roof & fitted new windows. We want to complete the decorating, & carry on with improving furnishings & facilities.

All this has been made possible by the support of people in the village & surrounding area. Please keep it up!

We have more fund raising events to come, & there are other events being organised on our behalf. Please support them, & be as generous as you can.

THE INSTITUTE NEEDS YOU

The work of the Institute, which is a registered Charity, is run by a Management Committee, but we urgently need new members. We could also run more activities if we had more volunteers. What about you?

Just a few hours a month is all it takes, & your efforts will be rewarded as more people use the Institute.

For instance, the very popular Lunch Club, run twice a month on a Wednesday with the help of the school, needs more volunteers to serve meals or wash-up. Also, we could run more coffee mornings if we had more help.

THE INSTITUTE WELCOMES YOU

You can hire a hall or the whole building for your party or dance, talk, exhibition or sale. Contact the Booking Secretary, Linda Ritson on 61764.

If you have ideas for using the building, starting a new activity, or reviving an old one, we want to hear from you.

The Institute belongs to the village, & is open to everyone
