EATING & DRINKING

We have many local inns & restaurants where you will find good food at reasonable prices & where children are welcome.

Apart from the village pub which serves food Wed – Sunday, we can recommend the New Inn at Brampton about 1 mile away & the Stag at Dufton 2 miles distant. The Shepherds Inn at Melmerby serves delicious food especially Sunday lunches, but beware – the puddings are irresistible! For a special meal try the Tufton Arms or Appleby Manor in Appleby.

A notice board in the kitchen displays recent menus & cards collected by other guests recommending eateries.
